We use GAS CUTTING for low-alloy and low-carbon steels.
HERE 5 MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT GAS CUTTING
1. In the gas cutting process, the main gases we use are oxygen and acetylene or propane.
2. If breaks are necessary during work, the gas we use is acetylene. In this way, we significantly reduce operating costs.
3. Although propane has a lower market price than acetylene, due to the longer heat-up time, operating costs can be significantly higher. That’s why we use propane when cutting longer sections, during which we do not have to make too many breaks.
4. During the oxy-gas cutting, we fulfill 2 basic conditions: the ignition of the metal must come to a temperature lower than its melting temperature, whereas the melting of the oxides formed at a temperature lower than the ignition.
5. Metals that meet the conditions for oxygen cutting are iron, titanium and tungsten
